Description
The Liberty Aside set (Roller + Pad) is the result of a successful international collaboration between Italy and the UK.
The Roller is made by Mr. Rob Jenkins at the Malvern Saddle Co. located in the UK and is combined exclusively with the Roller Pad designed and made specifically in our Italian workshop located in Milan.
Liberty Aside was born from the willing to make the rider feeling a deep sense of contact and connection with the horse as when they were riding bareback, while maintaining the same safety when riding in a saddle.
Sidesaddle riding is a discipline that requires dedicated and specific equipment for each pair of horse and rider but this is not always easy to find. Liberty Aside becomes a valid solution for a first approach to the discipline, allowing the horse and rider to test themselves with no size issues (both pieces are made to measures) and without the commitment of large economic investments.
The exclusive feature of the Liberty Aside is the versatility! Roller heads are both removable and can be placed on the opposite side. This means that it is possible to ride both nearside and offside, allowing a symmetric training even in such an asymmetric discipline.
Models
Liberty Aside is available in multiple models.
The Cotton model is entirely made in cotton fabric. Outer layer and all the pockets are in cotton while the fabric in contact with the horse is non-slip (no silicones). Fabrics, trims and all the decorative ropes are always customized according to the rider’s whishes.
During the customization process, the rider is involved at all steps. The components of the Liberty Aside set ( Roller and pad) are in fact both made to measures, so the riders will be asked to provide some details about their size and those of their horse (an easy guide will be provided) to let us choose the most appropriate seat shape and the type of padding. The choice of colors and decorations is also decisive because they are what make this product unique.
Cotton base and velvet seat.
The “Velvet” model recalls the design of the old saddles that often featured the seat in doeskin. The offered velvets are always in small quantities to be able to create products always different and unique. The origin is varied: generally they are found in small boutiques in Italy and abroad.
What problems does it solve?
Beginners: helps rider and horse to test themselves in a first approach with a tailor-made product. In addition, the rider who is sitting on a soft seat, will have to maintain greater control of the correct position by strengthening the core muscles, a preparatory training valid for when they will ride in a proper saddle.
Made to measures: the saddle must be of the correct size for the horse and proportionate to the rider’s leg length. Unless you have a custom saddle, or unless you have a saddle for each horse, it is not always easy to find the right one, sometimes leading to give up the activity for this reason. Liberty Aside (both roller and pad) is completely custom-made. In addition, its flexibility and the 2 small fitting cushions that go under the Roller make the set suitable to be used on multiple horses.
Professionals/saddles owners: Liberty Aside is very lightweight and for this reason easily transportable. It can also be used by alternating training in the saddle with training in the pad to allow to ride more often without too much strain on the back of the horse.
Symmetrical: the heads of the Roller are removable and can be placed on both sides (nearside and offside). A symmetric training set for your asymmetric discipline!

Custom embroidery
All our products can be embroidered with the rider’s name or with the logo of the equestrian Association.
Washing
All our products are made of durable materials. For a correct washing we recommend following the instructions on the labels. Products that have padded pockets are advised to empty the pockets first. It is recommended not to immerse the padding in water, if necessary, moisten them with a cloth. Velvet products are just as resistant but gentle washing is recommended. Our fabrics are stabilized however a slight shrinkage may occur after the first wash.

The cost of shipping is not included and depends on the destination. Any customs duties are excluded and to be borne by the buyer.
